RUN 2415 REPORT

DNR and I headed into the city early to secure a park close by.  There was plenty of parking to be had so need not ave bothered getting in early.  A short walk from the parking to the Hobart Workers Club.  We walked up the stairs to join the other early hashers (why I mention this will become apparent later ).  Early arrivals (including myself and DNR) were Rigamortis (Hash Cash extraordinaire), Shit Creek (Lip), Griz, LA and Limp.  Some, myself included, were probably there early to make sure to have an extra drink or two before hitting the trail.  I had a whiskey to ward off the bitter chill of the evening. A reasonable sized group considering the sudden cold snap. 

It was lovely to see Just Kidding return to Hash after her absence.  Also surprising to see Steptoe turn up on such a cold night as she is usually a fair-weather hasher.  Late comers were Pole Dancer and of course Thrillseeker who arrived exactly at 6.31.  Talk about cutting it fine. 

Grassroots and DNR were talked into taking the lift down by Bees Dick at the beginning of the run.  Mind you I don’t think they took much coaxing.   

On trail there was a bit of grumbling by some Hashers regarding the ‘Loop’.  Controversial, I think.  On or not on?  That is the question.  More controversy on trail as a Couple of Weeks, who was looking over the overpass, got more than she bargained for.  She happened to overlook Can’t Stop having a piss.  Pretty much a case of, “Nothing to see here”.   

Apparently, there was an impromptu Piss Stop of an elite group of Hashers including Shit Creek, Arse Cutter, Grass Roots and DNR.  Detoured to the New Sydney.  Grassroots and DNR wanted to have another glass of the nice rose there. 

Meanwhile on trail the runners, having just about completed trail, pranced up Elizabeth Street pretending to be elite athletes.  These athletes, including, Limp and Bees Dick, entered into the ground floor and then caught the lift up to the Hobart Workers Club.  Poor effort I’d say.  Even the walkers managed to walk up the stairs after trail. 

There was a bit of hush as Hashers scoffed down their meals.  Can’t Stop had a big boy meal of Steak and Onion Pie.  So nice to see the little one tuck into a meal.

Announcements

• Arsecutter’s Bucks night – on Friday 16 October, meet at 6.00pm near Wooby’s Lane
• Full Moon Hash AGPU – Sunday 18 October. New bus arrangements – check you email. Bring food to share, and drinks (if you don’t want to drink Eve’s ginger beer and wheat beer) and bring a grail.
