Who doesn’t love dressing in uncomfortable leather breeches or bust-enhancing dresses, then running or walking around in the clean sea air, all while enjoying a ‘responsible’ amount of alcohol?

Rejoice, for the annual H5 Oktoberfest draws near.

Saturday’s Oktoberfest program includes a scenic run or walk, a fully-loaded p!ss stop – including Sir Eve’s Bavarian brews – and the traditional glühwein competition (aka ‘pearls before swine’).

In the evening we don our lederhosen or dirndl and gather in the restaurant for a two-course meal and traditional clanking of steins. Prost!

For those unable to go on an away weekend without baring all, there will be a ‘clothes-optional’ trail at a time to be determined, but hopefully at least late enough for the sun to have gone down. (Getting anyone other than Spoof to stay up until midnight for a nudie run is well and truly a thing of the past.)

On Sunday morning there will be a buffet breakfast in the restaurant, followed by a gentle recovery trail and the option of a ‘hare of the dog’ before heading home.

Cost

The Oktoberfest weekend fee is $110 payable to Hash Cash. Bookings need to be confirmed by 18 September, so make sure that you are paid up by that date.

The Oktoberfest fee covers meals (lunch and dinner Saturday, breakfast Sunday), p!ss stops (Saturday and Sunday) and an embroidered Oktoberfest badge. Accommodation is extra (see below).

If you are unlikely to be at a Monday night trail and need to pay, you can transfer to the H5 bank account (details below).

If paying by bank transfer, you need to include your Hash name (or something we can identify you by) AND send us an email with the transfer details.

What’s covered

Your Oktoberfest fee pays for lunch and dinner Saturday, breakfast on Sunday and post-trail drinks for both days’ trails.

You pay for…

Accommodation, dinner and drinks on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday morning and drinks at dinner on Saturday.

The Eastcoaster has a wide variety of rooms available including:

When booking you will need to provide the number of persons sharing and required bed arrangement, number of nights required, name and phone number of one registrant, and credit card details. Note: only one card per room for payment.

Friday 2nd October

• Arrival – check in available after 2pm.
  Each booking should receive an email from the resort noting room allocation along with door code for entry.
• Oktoberfest registration available in the conference centre, adjacent to reception.
• Evening drinks from 5.30pm onwards Spring Bay Restaurant & Wine Bar (own cost)
• 6pm–7pm Meals available at Spring Bay Restaurant (own cost).

Saturday 3rd October

• 10:30am: Gather for group photo at Jetty in front of Spring Bay Restaurant
• 11am-12.30pm: Trail starts from jetty area.
• 12:30pm–4:30pm: Piss Stop, Circle, BBQ lunch and Glühwein Competition at the BBQ area near the playground/gym
• 6pm–8pm: Evening meal, Main Function Room, Eastcoaster Resort
  Two-course meal (alternate drop), drinks at the bar (own cost)
• 10pm: Clothes-optional run (venue to be advised)

Sunday 4th October

• 8am–10am: Buffet Breakfast in the Spring Bay Restaurant.
• 10am: Check out time.
• 10:30am: Recovery Trail, followed by p!ss stop and Circle at the BBQ area.
• 2pm: Off home. Auf wiedersehen!
