UP AND CUMMING

  • 6 July 2026 | Combined Clubs Charity Run @ RYCT
  • 30 April – 2 May 2027 | Aussie Nash Hash 2027 | Adelaide

Arriving at the Derwent Sailing Squadron (D.S.S) on now what was a dry evening after a drizzly day in Hobart, there was nearly 30 hashers to take on Shyte Creek and Rigor Mortis’s trail. There was a handful of hashers who had returned from Interhash and a visitor from Washington D.C Running Commentary.

With 6.30 pm arriving we headed outside the D.S.S to get our instructions from the hares and we were off. The runners headed south along Sandy Bay Rd to Earl St toward the Uni with Bees Dick leading the way with Tic Toc following him with me warming up with a 500 m walk first. The walkers headed north along Sandy Bay Rd to be seen later as the walker’s trail joined the runners. The trail made its way to Parliament St and Parliament Park to Fitzroy Gardens. The runners split from the walkers again and that’s where we run into trouble, LOST TRAIL. I headed to Davey St/Southern Outlet lights with no sighting of trail so headed down Davey St to The Globe Hotel.

After checking both sides of Antill St for trail I found the trail heading down Regent St into Queen St then turning into Grosvenor St past one of Steady Eddies rental properties and short steep climb into Star St. Into Fitzroy Pl I ran into some walkers, Bees Dick and Tic Toc really got the jump on me, no sighting of them anywhere. The trail went past Albuera St School to the Sandy Bay traffic lights and into the Battery Point area. The trail went down Bath St to where I thought it would be ON! ON! home via Marieville Esp to the D.S.S.

But no the hare’s trail went back along Quayle St and looped around Princes St/King St and finally back to  Marieville Esp where I heard some happy people. I thought maybe Rigor Mortis had set up one of her famous P#ss Stops with cocktails but it turned out to be young fit athletes reliving their run lol. So it was back to the warmth and hospitality of the D.S.S.

After replacing my sweaty top with a dry hash top, I grabbed a cold pale ale and found my seat at the table. Soon the food started coming out with a great selection with even Bangers and Mash for Honkers. Soon Shyte Creek took control and started the Lip Session with the usual sculls. Need to get the Choir Master back with the selection of songs lacking in variety lol.

Great night, good trail, great food and venue, good solo Lip Session by Shyte Creek!!

ONY! ON! Poley
