RUN 2389 REPORT
Twenty seven hardy soles braved the flannelette curtain and gathered at The Moonah Hotel, known affectionately as ” The Mustard Pot” by the locals. A good number as quite a few of the pack were away at Interhash. The foundation stone at the front of the building dates from 1934.

As usual the quiz night was sharing the bar but not many bright sparks in H5 so we moved right through to the front bar. Here we had a good view of the ladies fitness class in the gym opposite and it was with reluctance that some hashers went outside for the chalk talk.

Sonar gave little advice as to the run direction and pointed north and said “piss off” that way. The walkers and runners then went past some Moonah Icons such as the Blue Moon/Windjammer nightclub, then turned right at the former Moonah Picture Theatre into Hopkins Street, then down Sunderland Street before a short cut back to Main Road. The runners could be seen on the bike track doing some extra metres. The pack then went past the former Hydro Buildings before crossing the Main Road at the old fire station. Then up Birdwood Street where a dog fight broke out alarming all the local residents.

Some runners caught up with the walking pack only to be turned back to Charles Street by a cunning FT set up a laneway.
Not far past here Steady and Offal, the 2 oldest hashers present decided they had done enough for Octogenarians and would hash back and be the only hashers present who would know where the before mentioned iconic addresses were. So they turned left at the “Spot” cafe, went past the former Coles shop back to the Mustard Pot which is nearly opposite “Fitzgeralds” . Where the runners went – NFI.
Back at the On On beverages were consumed and soon meals arrived without too much delay, except for the new GM’s which was much delayed. Rumours of a blacklisting still current circulated. The lip session well hosted by a solitary Shit Creek proceeded and a mill stone to Tinky Winky 25 runs, new car for Growler, birthday for Clearfell were hallmarks with portions of tiramisu cake for a wedding anniversary for Tinky Winky and Darth Farter distributed and cooked by Mr Bean.
On On to “The Mont” next week (Claremont Hotel).
Your scribe – Ratu Steady.
